📖 Short Plot Summary

Professional photographer L. B. “Jeff” Jefferies is stuck in his Greenwich Village apartment with a broken leg and nothing to do but watch his neighbors through the rear window. What begins as boredom and curiosity turns into suspicion when Jeff believes one neighbor, Lars Thorwald, may have murdered his wife. With help from his glamorous girlfriend Lisa Fremont and sharp-tongued nurse Stella, Jeff starts piecing together clues from across the courtyard. But as their amateur investigation gets closer to the truth, the danger stops being something Jeff watches from a distance and starts looking straight back at him.
