You’ve heard our ratings. Now we want yours.

Three friends watch a movie. Three scores go on the board. Then somebody has to explain how they watched the same film as the other two.

For more than five years, that’s been the fun of 3 Guys and a Flick. Don, Ken and Jon bring their own histories, favorites and occasionally indefensible opinions to the microphone. You listen, nod along or yell at a speaker that stubbornly refuses to acknowledge your excellent point.

We figured it was time to give that point somewhere to go.

3 Guys and a Flick: The App is now available for iPhone and Android. It puts the podcast, our movie archive and the Flick Tools in your pocket. But the best part is what you bring to it: your ratings, your movie picks and your voice. We’ve spent years putting our taste on trial. Now you get a scorecard of your own.

The fourth opinion is yours

Open Ratings, find a movie you’ve seen and give it a score from zero to five in half-star steps. Loved it? Give it the full five. Hated it? Zero is an actual option. Some movies should be grateful we stopped there.

Your score sits alongside the hosts’ ratings so you can see exactly where you agree and where we apparently owe you an explanation. Change your mind after a rewatch? Change your rating. Nobody is making you defend a score you handed out while running on nostalgia and microwave popcorn.

There’s also a crowd verdict. Once at least three fans rate a movie, its public Listener Rating appears. Listener Stats turns those votes into a bigger conversation, including “Fans Say You’re Wrong About…” and “The Guys Called It.” One is a challenge to our authority. The other is going to be very difficult for us to shut up about.

Listener ratings are exclusive to the app and submitted anonymously. You don’t need an account or a public username to add your opinion.

“You’ve heard our ratings for years. Now we want yours.”

Same movies. One more opinion worth hearing.

Are you a Don, a Ken or a Jon?

You probably already have a theory. Maybe one host keeps giving your favorites the scores they deserve. Maybe another seems determined to personally injure your childhood.

Rate five movies the hosts have scored, then head to Saved → Your Flick Profile. The app reveals your closest matching host based on those ratings. Keep rating and your profile fills out with your favorite genres and decade, your highest- and lowest-rated movies and the places where your taste overlaps with the guys.

Then there’s your Hottest Take: the movie where your rating is furthest from the hosts’ overall score. That beloved film we trashed? That cinematic disaster you proudly defend? The app finds the disagreement and gives it a spotlight. Finally, your questionable taste gets the presentation it deserves.

Your profile also follows your listening activity and achievements. Listening, rating and exploring earn badge points toward your Flick Score, with ranks that run from Rookie Critic to Flick Legend. There are 12 achievement badges, including Wildcard for disagreeing with the hosts and Zero Hero for awarding a zero. We have somehow turned disapproval into personal growth.

Your taste deserves a trading card

Tap Share My Flick Profile and the app creates a movie trading card built around you. Your rank, Flick Score, closest host match, top three movies and Hot Take all get their own place on the graphic.

It’s sized for Instagram and Facebook Stories, and you can share it directly from the app, send it to a friend or save it. The card includes a download link so the next person can join in and compare. No design software. No painstaking screenshot collage. No excuse for keeping that five-star opinion to yourself.

Share your card and tag 3 Guys and a Flick. We want to see who you match, which movies made your top three and which of our ratings you’re ready to challenge. A room full of people agreeing with us would be deeply suspicious anyway.

Put your movie in The Helmet. Put your voice on the show.

Ratings are only one way to join the conversation. The Home screen gives you a direct route to Suggest a Movie, where you can send us a pick for The Helmet with your name or nickname and an optional comment.

Suggestions are reviewed by the hosts before they appear publicly. You can see what’s waiting, what’s already been reviewed and whether your pick is already in the queue. If it is, add your name to it. Consider that a second vote of confidence—or a second person who wants to watch us suffer.

Want us to hear the argument in your own words? Tap Record a Voicemail to open the show’s voicemail recorder. Your message could be played on air. Tell us what we got right, what we got wrong or why that movie deserves another look. Give your opinion a direct route straight to the show.

That’s the point of the app: more people in the conversation, more movies to discover and more reasons for the three of us to argue into microphones.

Take the show beyond the couch

Of course, the podcast comes with us. Browse the episode archive, hit play and keep listening with your phone locked. The player remembers where you left off in each episode, while a mini-player lets you explore the app without stopping the conversation.

Download episodes before a flight, a road trip or a commute through a cellular dead zone and listen offline. Heart the episodes, movies and articles you want to revisit. Feeling indecisive? Let Random Episode choose the argument for you.

Coming Next shows the upcoming movie and where it’s streaming, so you can watch before our review drops. Turn on episode alerts or set a reminder for that specific review. The Home screen and new-episode notifications keep the hosts’ scores hidden, so our verdict stays a surprise until you choose to explore Ratings. We’ll spoil the peace and quiet. We don’t need to spoil the score.

Cinematic Show Notes inside the 3 Guys and a Flick app.
Movie-night rabbit holes, all in one place.

One app. Plenty of cinematic rabbit holes.

Once an episode sends you down a rabbit hole, you can stay right in the app. Cinematic Show Notes brings together cast information, trivia, memorable quotes, awards, budget and box office details, soundtracks and “Watch Next” recommendations. Rate the movie from the notes when you’re ready to deliver your verdict.

The Scorecard lets you dig into the hosts’ rating habits, compare them head to head and explore the films that divided us. FlickPick helps find something to watch based on genre, decade, mood and minimum rating. Actor, Director and Franchise searches make it easy to follow a familiar face, a filmmaker or a series through our reviewed catalog.

And if a song steals the scene, The Needle Dropper is waiting with soundtrack listings, song previews where available and links to keep listening. Flick Features lives here too, so you can save an article and come back when you have time for another cinematic detour.

A search button connects episodes, movies, actors, directors, franchises, soundtracks and articles. Fewer browser tabs. More time deciding whether the sequel was actually better.

Built by a Guy. Made for all of you.

Jon built the app on a Windows PC with Claude Code as his coding partner and Expo as the toolkit behind the iPhone and Android versions. The project went from its first code on September 13 to both app stores on October 13, 2026—about a month of building, testing and finding out how many things a phone can do differently from another phone.

Don and Ken helped test, so if something goes wrong, blame them. The result is a real mobile app with its own screens, player and listener features, bringing together tools that grew alongside the show.

The promise is refreshingly uncomplicated: free to download, no ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases and no account required. Your profile grows from activity on your phone, so cross-device profile syncing isn’t part of this launch. We’re planning written listener reviews for a future update; for now, your movie ratings are ready to go.

This is something we wanted to give back to the people who keep listening, suggesting movies and proving that three opinions were never going to be enough.

Your first five ratings are waiting

Download the app, open Ratings and choose five movies you’ve already seen. Give each one an honest score. Then open Saved and check Your Flick Profile to find your closest host match.

From there, pick an episode, send a movie to The Helmet or leave us a voicemail. Share your profile when you’re ready to put your taste on the record. You don’t need to work through the whole archive before joining the fun.

We’ll keep watching. We’ll keep rating. We’ll almost certainly keep disagreeing.

Now it’s your turn.
