Short Plot Summary
After serving fourteen years in prison, Max Cady is released with one obsession: punish attorney Sam Bowden, the public defender he believes buried evidence that could have helped him. Now educated in law, manipulation, and intimidation, Cady stalks Sam, his wife Leigh, and their teenage daughter Danielle, slowly invading every part of their lives. As the legal system fails to contain him, Sam’s fear curdles into desperation, leading the Bowdens into a violent final confrontation on the Cape Fear River.
