Short Plot Summary
When a great white shark begins killing swimmers near the resort town of Amity Island, police chief Martin Brody wants to close the beaches, but local officials fear losing tourist money. As the attacks continue, Brody teams with oceanographer Matt Hooper and shark hunter Quint to track the predator into open water. Their hunt aboard the Orca becomes a battle of fear, obsession, survival, and one very stubborn shark.
